ROMAIN KREMER

I actually love Romain Kremer! Defiantly one of my favourite menswear designers, I admire the simplicity within the garments and the way he plays with the idea of masculinity. His placement of colour and texture is genius.

Featured in the current spring/summer 11 AnOther Magazine. Romain Kremer is displayed beside a series of other menswear designers styled by Robbie Spencer on a collaboration with artist Maurizio Anzeri and photographer Richard Burbridge. The trio aimed to "create something elegant and timeless with each look but with a juxtaposition of modernity and youth” by reinterpreting abstract shapes within Garments. Once the shots were taken they were handed over to artist Maurizio Anzeri to embroider over, his embroidery techniques are fascinating creating bold and geometric shapes introducing a 3D concept to the photos. I love his approach to modernising embroidery as it is something i am including in my own graduate collection by embroidering with raffia and other objects and placing on top of machine embroidery to create vivid textures within garments.

FINAL REVIEW WITH MARK ELEY

Last Thursday i had my final review with Mark Eley from Eley Kishimoto. After hearing horror story's from ex students having their garments cut up in front of them etc everyone was extremely nervous to say the least. The review is a chance for all the final year fashion students to see their collections near complete, fully styled and on an group of six models in order for them to make the next stages in the design process whether it be eliminating or adding garments, changing fabrics or completely changing the direction of the collection! The review also determines which collections will be going forward into the graduate show.

After many sleepless nights i was relieved to see my collection looking good together for the first time on models and was pleased with the reaction i received from Mark, the panel of lecturers and head of PR.
So here is a sneak peak of my Graduate Honors collection so far.............

JEREMY SCOTT AW11

LOVED. LOVED. LOVED EVERYTHING about Jeremy's show this year. However as always it was the hair and the styling that stood out most for me! Dip Dyed and very very 90s! It really was just like a big clueless sleepover club! i Like it!
